How to hide an excel sheet with protection?

jb

Member
I have a workbook in which one excel sheet contains very important formulas.

I am supposed to give this workbook to another user to operate it.

i want that worksheet and all formulas to be protected from another user for security purpose.

I have tried option view code and then changing visibility option to set to 2, then selecting sheet name and vba project properties - lock and gave password there.

I have got this solution from this forum only. it hides the sheet.

But when i am opening view code option for some another sheet, it shows hidden sheet.

Means I can make visibility option reset and change password.

Help me on this issue please.

JB

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

When you say you are setting visibility to 2 I assume you are using VBA code to set the sheets visibility property to VeryHidden which means that the sheet doesn't show up in the Unhide sheet dialog

If this is what your doing you must save the file as an Excel Macro *.xlsm or Excel Binary *.xlsb file.

If your saving it as a *.xlsx file that may explain your problem
