lifehacked deliciously Wow, I am overwhelmed by the response the Excel Conditional Formatting Rockstar post generated. I got both lifehacked and del.icio.us home paged on the sameday and Wow, I am so happy for this.

Talk about my server, it was no where near expecting this kind of traffic. First thing today morning, I have called my hosting folks in India and asked them to increase my monthly bandwidth by 800%. I am guessing this should be fine for handling the traffic for the next few days. If not, I may have to go from a reseller hosting service to a full-fledged hosting service like godday or bluehost.

Thanks everyone, readers from Lifehacker and Del.icio.us, you are awesome! Welcome here, go ahead and subscribe to my feed and enjoy many more juicy posts.

We learned a lot on this topic for the examples. However it is driving us crazy when we are entering long conditions. trying to move the cursor in the dialog box inserts an unwanted cell reference. Is there a trick to moving the cursor within the dialog box without it picking up the active cell reference within the soreadsheet?

    Thanks in advance.

@Mark ... wow, this has been bugging me for a while as well and I havent yet been able to find a neat way of doing it without using mouse to place the cursor where I want. Will spend sometime tomorrow to see if there is an alternative to this...

    Chandoo/Mark:
What I normally do this is to NOT insert the = when I begin writing a formula. Once I completed writing a formula, i go Home and insert =. This works fine for me.
(Btw, i'm commenting almost 2 yrs after the last comment. Have you found anything better than mine in this period?)

@Murugaraj ... I usually press F2 as soon as entering the formula box in CF or Data Validation cells. This ensures that active cell references are not copied when using arrow keys
