210 minutes of tragedy and 120 minutes of comedy …

Random - 4 comments

well, that pretty much summerizes the scene of 2 mids i had today.

first in the day i had finance mid. well, as somebody was saying after the exam ‘the prof had left only 4 ratios in the text book’. Anybody who knows the spelling of finance can guess that at the most rudimentary level, fin is nothing but ratio analysis. Now any sane text book with 1200 pages on fin (actullay, coming to think of it, it doesnt seem that sane either :P) will have minimum one ratio per page and that translates into something like hazaar ratios. Given that we had only 300 of those leaves for mid, you can imagine the kind of mugging required to remmeber the stupid stuff.

I for one tried to capture the essence of these ratios and was confident that i can reproduce or derive the ratios in exam hall. Talking about the paper, as it is the paper is very lenghty. and the time is 3.5 hours. I never had the disgrace of inivigilator snatching the paper in my whole life till today. well, now even i can boast about this.

Apart from the wastage of 14 pages worth trees and one nights sleep the fin mid dint provide much work to my brain.

With that i thought may be i can spend sometime on OM paper.

On the broad outset the paper looking like another marathon race. but once i started reading the questions i felt like kicking myself coz, i only prepared for problems. What we had today is nowhere near problems. well, we had 2 cases and one model based problem. but most of it is theory. after fighting for 120 mins trying answer questions like ‘what are the managerial responsibilities of project manager?’ and ‘what are the milestones in this project’ i gave up and came back to the hostel.

the best part of the day started only then. We had *very* tasty Utappams as snacks today. I would say they are simply superb. after gulping some ‘n’ (due to security reasons the number is not revealed.) utappams and cuppa, i came back to 305 and crashed for a couple of hours.

Just now i have completed watching Flavors. Awesome movie. for some strange reason i lack the strange ability to produce strange looking movie reviews. so, all i can say is, watch it if you want to feel good. a rider though, if you are not a software engineer then you might not be able to appreciate half the movie. 😀

That is all for now. Hope the other half of this kichidi term goes well too.
