Hi all, My name is Chandoo. Well, actually, my name is Purna Duggirala. But my friends and family members call me Chandoo. You too can call me that.
I will be teaching you Excel, VBA, Power Pivot for the next 6 months and answering your questions.
I live in Visakhapatnam, India. It is a small town in the south east cost of India. I run my own Excel Consulting & Training business from here.
I am married to my college sweet-heart, Jo. We have 2 kids – twins. They are 3 years old now. And very busy running, ruining and rampaging around the house.

Good day.
My name is Jeff Sheppard. I am a Finance Executive working to improve my ‘very’ Intermediate skills in Excel. I would also like to begin to learn some basic SQL so that I can play a bigger role in my Companies Business Intelligence Team. I have led the installation of DOMO in a couple of places but have had to count on IT to provide support. I am excited to learn and am looking forward to diving in.
Hello, my name is Imre, Dutchman, currently living in Chile, with my family. I love Excel, but I have lot to learn. Already using the program for 20 years, but still not familiar with the shortcuts…I am very fond of pivot tables. I analyse data, but presentation thereof needs improvement. I hope PowerBI will be the answer for that one.
very excited to start this learninng experience!
Saludos,

G’day there,
I am Jim, I live on the east coast of Australia. I recently retired from almost 40 years working for government and non-government, specialising in child protection and foster care programs. I found over 20 years ago that I had an aptitude for Excel – something just clicks for me, and so I have specialised in designing and developing evidence, reporting and monitoring programs to support operational effectiveness and efficiencies for statewide programs. When I discovered pivot tables I thought “where have you been all my life” :-).
I really enjoy finding my inner ‘cleverness’ in helping people analyse and interpret data to understand and manage practice.
Recently I have been drawn back into consultancy work in the same field. It’s nice to stretch my brain again. I’m really looking forward to learning more through this time with Chandoo’s brain.

Hi Chandoo (and everyone else)
I’ve finished the course, but I have one problem coming up with a graph in PowerBI which has dates on both axis. I cannot figure out a solution.
https://imgur.com/a/otSF9dt
The Planned Completion date is a date generated monthly.
The Data Date is fixed in time – a time line. It could be replaced with “month 1, month 2” etc but preferable if it had a date.
The grey triangle is optional – but basically hides the lines.
The use is to see the trend of the date, whether it has slipped or been brought forward. When it hits the grey line, you know it is complete. It can sometimes pop out of the grey triangle if something needs to be reworked.
I can do this fine in Excel, but NOT in powerBI for whatever reason. Any ideas?
Hello,
Narayan here- I work in clinical data analytics. This is really helpful, and I am planning to develop a dashboard tool using Power Query and Power BI. I am good at Excel and not a VBA person.
Trying to create summary tables by merging multiple tables with conditions.

Hello Everyone
This is Mui from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
I am in finance for an eCommerce company based in Perth Western Australia.
I somehow self taught Excel and have been using for more than 30 years to do most of my work, but learning more of the powerful tools in Excel would be interesting and helpful.
I was drawn to Chandoo because of his self-less sharing and honesty.
Hopefully I can learn a few powerful functions to enhance my work dealing with big data set.

Hi, I am Maris.
I am reviewing excel which was an “attached at the hip” tool of mine for decades, but I havent used it since I retired early a few years ago. I got bored being retired and am taking a qualifying exam for an position where I am sure excel will be represented!!! So, I am boning up on it again. I am a project manager and have been a business systems analyst. Mostly in healthcare organizations, but also non HC. I know I will pass with flying colors thanks to Chandoo’s tutelege and using my brain again! I look forward to it.
Hi I am Mark.
I have always wanted to take an Excel training course offered by Chandoo. Now that I have met this goal, I will now have to push to complete this course. As a financial analyst I use Excel all the time and have used Excel since it first came out (even before I used MS Works – do you remember that one?). I am using this training to take the leap from Excel to PowerPivot to Power BI. I am familiar with Chandoo’s style as I have attended the end-of-month YouTube webinars for quite some time now. Having said that, I am excited and look forward to the training courses.
