.xls opening without popup about "This workbood contains one or more links.."

Good morning all.

I have been using a spreadsheet on our company's sharepoint site that is in an Excel 2010 .xlsx format. I create other reports as an export from a completely different program and that program creates the documents in .xls without an alternate option.

When I open my .xlsx document and it tries to open the linked .xls documents, I get a pop-up that states, "This workbook contains one or more links that cannot be updated. -To change the source of links, or attempt to update values again, click Edit Links. - To leave the liks as is click Continue."

I have to open each .xls individually and then the data links. It would be nice if there was a setting in Excel 2010 that I could toggle and have it open .xls documents without the pop-up.

Thanks in advance and stay Awesome!

There is! Go to Data, Edit Connections. Click on Startup Prompt, and choose the option you want.
