Hi All
Some time ago I hada thorny question related to creating a work rota from which I could extract days, nights annual leave, sickness along with a few other nuggets. After posting on this forum I was pointed in the right direction. . After some fiddling I cracked the problem with VLOOKUP I can now automate listing staff names for each day for each parameter. Couple of ways of doing. Paste special from original data to create copy and use this to extract names. and then to tidy it all up link into a properly formatted worksheet. Also had one worksheet which I could change single parameter and then print out different data sets.
My problem is similar to the last except as well as having days D nights N I also have variable numeric values. (Time as a decimal). Basically I have created a work book which will calculate annual leave on a pro-rata basis (in terms weekly hours, length of service, start date) This has wowed my boss as everything graphs in terms of week month quarter. The only thing I have yet to grasp is getting the workbook to list every staff member who takes annual leave on a given date regardless of how the annual leave is listed.
I can list staff who take annual leave as a complete shift either day D or night N. The problem comes when I am trying to list those staff who on a particular day have variable annual leave hours. A part time worker might only work 3.75 hours per day, but I would still need to list them as on annual leave. How do I extract the name so that it will appear in my list of staff taking annual leave.
