VBA Recoding Help

Bercilak

New Member
All,

I have quite a few VBA scripts which I have developed over the last several years that I am hoping I could find someone that might be interested in working with me to "re-code". I say re-code, because I fought through learning VBA as I created all of the scripts. I am certain there are opportunities to do it right and speed up a lot of the scripts.

Anyone that might be interested, please let me know.

Hi, Bercilak!

First of all welcome to Chandoo's website Excel forums. Thank you for your joining us and glad to have you here.

As a starting point I'd recommend you to read the green sticky topics at this forums main page. There you'll find general guidelines about how this site and community operates (introducing yourself, posting files, netiquette rules, and so on).

When searching for a solution of a problem, among them you're prompted to perform searches within this site before posting, because maybe your question had been answered yet.

Feel free to play with different keywords so as to be led thru a wide variety of articles and posts, and if you don't find anything that solves your problem or guides you towards a solution, you'll always be welcome back here. Tell us what you've done, consider uploading a sample file as recommended, and somebody surely will read your post and help you.

And about your first post...

If I were you I'd begin organizing your scripts by category or theme, then I'd prepare a VTOC (volume table of contents, aka index), I'd put all that into a file, then upload it and post here the link.

Despite of this you could paste a couple of code examples here so as to tempt people to get in touch with you, if you provide an email contact address.

Regards!

Hi Brit ,

I am not sure anyone would have reasons to be interested !

If you stand to benefit from this exercise , people would certainly be willing to help ; but if it is an academic exercise , just to clean up some code , I don't know how many would be interested.

You can mention some of the areas your code deals with , so that those who are interested in specific areas can get in touch.

It would help if you can say whether the coding is procedural or uses OOP.

Hi Brit

Post an example, referring to http://chandoo.org/forums/topic/posting-a-sample-workbook

I'll take a quick look and see if there are any obvious areas
