Unreadable content in file saved by macro

ThrottleWorks

Excel Ninja
Hi,

My friend is doing a ‘Save as’ on XLSM file with macro.

This file gets saved. However, post macro completion, when he tries to open the file manually, he gets below mentioned message.

Excel found unreadable content in ‘file name.xlsm’. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook ? If you trust the source of this workbook, click yes.

After clicking yes, file gets opened in ‘Repair mode’.
Can anyone please help us resolving this.

Most likely an error in the code. Can't really comment further without seeing it... ;)
Having said that, is he specifying the FileFormat parameter in the SaveAs line? (he should be)

Had a similar issue in my office. Excel was the issue so it needed to be reinstalled for that colleague. Can't say for sure what the issue with your files could be.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the help. I guess, the problem is due a ‘Table’ in the file. As soon as we converted to the table to range, issue vanished.

Not sure, if this was the exact cause, but it has worked.

Have a nice day ahead.
