SPSS any one?

Saw this news on TechCrunch http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/07/28/monster-merger-ibm-buys-spss-for-approx-12-billion/ that IBM is buying SPSS. I have used SPSS for some statistical analysis (segmentation, proving complex hypotheses, complex regression etc.) during my PG days... I like the raw power and processing ability of the tool. But it had godawful visualization options...


does any of you use SPSS everyday?


IBM buying the software means they are focusing more on becoming the next visualization mammoth...
 
I don't use it every day, but am familiar with it since using it for some empirical research projects I've worked on.


I hope IBM makes SPSS more user friendly though. I personlly think that if they put some of the name and range functions of lotus 123 into SPSS, they'd be able to compete with Microsoft in a whole other market.
