I've been working on a time-sheet file to log-in / log-out of projects we work on each day.

PROBLEM! The file opens very slowly

File Size: 661 KB
Opening time: 28 seconds

QUESTION: Is there a fix or should I start over?

Thanks!

I tested ... less than 10secs.
1) Have You tested with 'Calculation-Manual'?
2) Do Your harddisk has enough space?
3) There are 'some' calculations
... eg 12-times months
... do You need all of those? Of course, one needs.

Vletm,
Thank you for testing...I'm starting to wonder if it's our server causing the issue.

Hahaha >>> "Of course, one needs"

So can you help me know which calculations are redundant?

sheter
... You just remember that You're using that file from Your server.
... that will 'only makes everything slower'.
Have You tested to open it from Your PC's harddisk?
Case one needs:
How many months You could see in one time?

sheter
I did 'minor modifications'.
... like ONE month-sheet and times will be times.
But, so far, I cannot test it ... I can see many #NAME?.

How many months You could see in one time?
There is 'dropdown' to select month ...
then those 'Month-sheets' could be any or any order?
or
Where? Do that file need or what?

The final version of this file will not have a dropdown in the Month-Sheets. I put it in for testing only. Sorry for the confusion. =(

If that is ONLY reason ... then You would leave it.
3rd time... How many months You could see in one time?

I'm sorry Vletm, I'm not sure what you're asking:
"How many months You could see in one time?"

The idea I have is for each month to be on it's own separate printable "timesheet" so we can print each month for our records. Currently, the file is not complete...that's why there is only one sheet "JAN".

I hope this clarifies.

Okay 4th time -
"How many months You could see in one time?"
If You can see only ONE month in time - then You have 'normal monitor'.
If You can see twelve months in SAME time ...
then You will need twelve files and twelve monitors.
Don't those 12 month-sheets have same formulas?

For 'printing' of those twelve 'timesheets',
You will need ONE sheet ...
Jan > print >
change to Feb > print >
and so on until
Dec has printed.

That 'change' could do automatic ...
means
You will press the button and wait until it's ready.

(same way it would possible to printout eg 10yrs sheets, if there would be data ... no need to have 120 sheets for months)

Check this DEMO
Open JAN...DEC
Press [ PRINT YEAR]
This shows the whole current year.
It is possible to add Printing ... PDF ....
and
If needs to print 'only' Feb and Jun ... or any combination ... that's possible to.
That option isn't there now.

I tested to make 'OUTPUT'
1) select needed YEAR
2) select needed MONTH
3) select needed OUTPUT (PRN, PDF) (PDF needs PDF-folder)
- - - in none of above then it will show month three seconds.
4) Press [ OUTPUT ]

I tested in 'Month'-sheet ...
there are still some formulas left.
One challenge was that I don't know what would the original layout look.

... continue cleaning that file (from 660kb to ~111kb)
There are still questions and also some cleaning.

sheter ... I'll try still ...
I did some checking ... of course there were 'sample data'
...but if someone would use this in the real -
then there could be cases as below
This would be challenge to notice other ways.
... there are 'holes' ... missing hours for some reason.
If 'only' few minutes will miss, then challenge but
if there are over hour misses then ... someone won't be happy.
