I have some pivot tables setup based on a power pivot model.
Every time, I expand or collapse pivot table fields, I see a message in the status bar that says "Running OLAP Query" ... it doesn't last too long but want to know why it does that and whether it can be avoided to improve user experience.
I do have some calculated fields that I display in the pivot table so unless excel calculates those on the fly I don't see any reason for the pivot table to refer back to the data model and run a query against it every time.
