problem with Conditional Formatting

Hello everybody,

I am puzzled about the behavior of conditional formatting.

The conditional formatting rule is:
Formula: $J6 > $G6
Format: Red
Applies to: $J$3:$J$240
please see rule picture.

But I do not understand the results, please see result picture:
if J is -0.96% and G -0.55% the cell turns red, while it shouldn't, but just below J is -0.48% and G is -1.42% and the cell correctly turns red.

How is it possible ?

J and G are formatted as percentage.
If I write in a cell =J12>G12 the result is correctly FALSE

Thank you a lot for your help

Alberto

if you have applied to J3 : J240

then the formula needs to start at J3 - otherwise strating at j6 will be 3 rows out

you are saying change the colour of J3 - but based on if J6 > G6 is true
and so on down the rows

$J6 > $G6 should be $J3 > $G3

OR the selection should be J6:J240

Thank you a lot Etaf !

So easy ! I didn't think about it.
Basically all calculations were shifted by 3 rows.
Thank you again
Alberto
