How would you calculate it manually? With one year's data, there is no trend pattern, so how is Excel meant to work it out?

    Guessing....................

In G199, enter formula and copied down :

    =IF(A199="","",VLOOKUP(A199,A$2:G$198,7,0)*(1+VLOOKUP(A199,A$2:G$198,6,0)%)^(H199-H$2))

    Regards
    Bosco

Yes. After You've given every towns populations from 1900 to 2014
    or from 2016 to 2018.

    growth population prediction ... yes!
If You know that some town has eg 10 people in 2015.
... how many people would be there next year ... ten years later?
    ... ... I would guess that none!

okay ... You answered ... yes!
Then all Your sent towns would have none in 2016.
All of those would have negative growth population prediction,
from Your sent values to zero ... better?
    ... YES ...
    Video was pure white area!
As I wrote above .. seems that I was correct ... none.

    ... no comment of that,

We know what you are looking for, however your data sample does not include enough historical data to be able to establish trends. Do you have more than one year's data? If not, it can't be done.

If You cannot give needed data then ...
If I use totally random value to prediction ...
    would You be pleased?

Here are the best possible Your wanted results from 2015 data.
I did same time those until 2022.

    As written with random values.
    = 2015orprevyear.value * randbetween(-15,15)/100+1
And one more time: read that note too!
