Modifying Gantt chart at axis

I've tried modifying Minimum and Maximum ranges but it's only creating a mess.

Simply put, I'm trying to eliminate extra default white space at head of Gant schedule.

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

Select the chart then select the Top Axis (Dates)

Right click the axis and Format Axis
In the Minimum Dialog type: 15/7/2017
