Dear Sir,

Reference to attach sheet I have two sheets one is payment file and another one beneficiary list.

In payment file column “K” I have vendor name as per books of accounts and in column “J” I have Vendor name as per Bank name, Column “H” and Column “I” have IFSC code and Bank Name.

1) I wanted to lookup Vendor name in Column “J” from Benename file column “D”

2) I wanted to lookup IFSC code in Column “J” from Benename file column “E”

3) I wanted to lookup ACCOUNT NUMBER in Column “J” from Benename file column “F”

Dear Sir,

I wanted as per Column “D” Benename whether there is space or not.

I wanted account number is column “I” and IFSC code in Column “H”.

I'll try again with two questions:
1) Do You want to help to do lookup as You wanted?

2) If answer to previous question is 'Yes'
... then You want to result in one cell.
Reread my #2 reply.

3) If answer to #1 question is 'No'
... then how You would change Your original three times 'I want...'

Of course, I could guess ... but 50/60%, it would be correct.

Have even tried to study about Lookup?
Because You know exact what do You want ...
then You could do it Yourself anytime.

Please help me with one example then I will apply the same formula for other cases.
I know simple lookup but in this case I need to search the names with another sheet Which I dont know...because name are not same in both sheet.
Please advise.

There have to be something same between those sheets!
(If there are not same data, then this would be a challenge.)
Also, You use terms which are clear just for You.
((( note steps 5 and 8, depends Your settings; I use ; , it would be possible that You use , )))
Step-by-step:1) select 'payment FILE'-sheet
2) select cell J3
3) write =lookup(
4) select cell K3
5) write , or ;
6) select 'Benename'-sheet
7) select cells from D2 to D4 with Your mouse
8) write , or ;
9) select cells from B2 to B4 with Your mouse
10) write )
11) press <ENTER>
>> You should get a formula

1st You asked to use Lookup...
Did You try that my step-by-step?
Now, You try to use Vlookup ... and that cannot work!
(and it works and could use different way than Lookup!)
Because, Your sheet is ... as it is.

1] In H3, copied down :

=LOOKUP(2,1/SEARCH(SUBSTITUTE(K3," ",""),SUBSTITUTE(Benename!$D$2:$D$1000," ","")),Benename!$E$2:$E$1000)

21] In I3, copied down :

=LOOKUP(2,1/SEARCH(SUBSTITUTE(K3," ",""),SUBSTITUTE(Benename!$D$2:$D$1000," ","")),Benename!$F$2:$F$1000)

1] In J3, copied down :

=LOOKUP(2,1/SEARCH(SUBSTITUTE(K3," ",""),SUBSTITUTE(Benename!$D$2:$D$1000," ","")),Benename!$D$2:$D$1000)
