How to hide a column in power pivot

msk

New Member
Hello All ,

Any help in this regard is appreciated. Thanks In advance .

Requirement :
A pie-chart was created based on a pivoted data which has 4 columns (a,b,c,d).

The requirement is I need to hide column d in both the pivot data and pie-chart that's been shown(column 'd' cannot be eliminated from the data).

In short , pie-chart should be built using all 4 columns but column 'd' should be hidden and no one should be aware that column 'd' is used.

What is column d used for?

You don't need it in pivottable if don't want it displayed in either chart or table.

If the value in d is needed for calculation etc. Just add calculated column in your data model.

Thanks Chihiro ... Attached a sample for your reference.

Column D contains Yes / No data and this is a custom column. I need to pivot the data only that has "Yes" in column D.

But I shouldn't show column D either in pivot or pie-chart.

Is there a way that I can do ?

Yes. Use DAX function and transform data within your data model.

I don't have access to PowerPivot at work. But if you upload sample workbook with your model, I can take a look when I get home.
