Hiding Part Of Text In A Cell

hi all,

i want to hide a part of text in excel cell.

for example , say i type ----abc xyz,

i dont't want xyz to be visible in the sheet.

how can this be done

You're using terms hide, type & visible ...
Do You really mean - that - You could type xyz?
... and ...
Later, Your could see those xyz's, if You'll change Your mind anytime.
OR
If You would like to prevent to write xyz?
... then You could use data validation - formula like below:
=IFERROR(FIND("xyz",C5)=0,TRUE)
