Help on Format Control

I am customizing the sample dashboard posted by Fernando Aires (btw - thanks to you sir in sharing this file) by changing the 'project plan' into actual dates. However, I cannot make the 'format control' work particularly the horizontal scroll. The file is below:

Appreciate any help.

Hi Dennis ,

What do you want the horizontal scroll to do ? Change the dates in row 8 ?

As it is , moving the scroll bar changes the linked cell value ; but this cell ( K1 ) has no dependents ; you need to change the formula for the dates to reflect the change of K1.

The minimum value of the horizontal scroll bar is 0 , and the maximum is 30 ; how do you want this to impact on the dates in row 8 ?

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

the Horizontal Scroll bar is connected to cell K1

But no formulas are connected to K1

What is the horizontal scroll bar meant to do ?

Move the data left/right or move something else ?

Hi Narayan991 and Hui,

First off, thanks for the replies.

I want the horizontal scroll bar to move left/right with the dates in the same way as the vertical scroll moves up/down. So, I need a solution that as I move the horizontal scroll, the chart dates move along with it up to the last date (i.e. April 30). I don't know what to do since, at the moment, I can move the horizontal scroll but the dates remain fixed or frozen...:(

Hi Dennis ,

In K8 , replace the existing formula by :

=L1+K1-1

and see whether it gives you what you want. Also , I have modified the upper and lower limits of the horizontal scroll bar to 31 and 1 , instead of 0 and 30.
