grouping columns and identifying unique values

I have done a great deal of searching and have found parts to my puzzle but not the whole picture.

I am looking to find unique values from different worksheets. These values will always be numbers and they will always be in column A. However, the number rows will differ between the worksheets (never more than ~200 in each respective column A) and the number of worksheets will differ (never more than ~10); I am trying to establish a template.

From this list of column A values, I would like to generate a new list of unique values and place them in another worksheet. My hope is that this could be as automated as possible such that I could enter in a number of values in the column As and the unique list would automaticaly populate.

I would be very grateful for any guidance!

Hi canadiang8r,

I have built a template that I believe meets your requirements.

The main formula in the solution is the INDIRECT function. It builds a dynamic formula (so you can quickly copy a new sheet into the workbook and only once type in new sheet name).

Basically, you just type in the sheet names and the maximum number of rows (in your case 200) to get the numbers from all sheets.

Your unique list of numbers is the last column.

So...this is my first post and I haven't figured out how to upload an Excel file into this post.

Let me know if you are interested in the template and how I can send it to you.

Cheers,

Kevin

You can't post files here directly but you can use other free sites

Kevin,

Thanks for your message!!

I greatly appreciate the help and I am interested!

Perhaps you could post the file where Hui suggested?
