Formula won't refer to other workbook

Have created a workbook with the "working" data and a second workbook with KPM monitoring. All information in the KPM spreadsheet is pulling from the "working" data - however, the links will not update when opening the KPM spreadsheet. Also, when trying to enter a new formula..... =COUNTIFS( ) when clicking in "working" spreadsheet, the formula doesn't pick up the link (click). How do I correct this issue?

Do you have the Base data and the KPI windows in separate instances of Excel?

I don't mean two separate workbooks or windows, but rather have you opened Excel twice and opened each workbook in them separately?

If you aren't sure, open Excel, then from that Excel click Open>KPI then Open>BaseData. Try again.

Hope that's it. Good luck.

Understand what you are saying - we'll give it a shot and see if it works! This would make sense why it wasn't connecting the two together.
