Excel Regression #NUM Error

Hello,

I am running a regression in Excel and am getting the #NUM error for some of my P-Values. All my data is numeric so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can someone please help.

I've attached the data set. I am using the HC tab for my regression.

Hi Narayan,

Thanks for the link. Are Cadillac and Buick or Hatchback Sedan considered similar values? And one of each needs to be removed? What am I doing wrong in my file?

Hi ,

I am afraid I cannot help ; you can try removing Cadillac and Buick first , and later Saturn and Hatchback.

I assume you are using one of the inbuilt Data Analysis functions in Excel

Can you walk us through what you have done step by step to get the table with the errors?

Also what version of Excel are you using ?

Hi:

Have you done this using Phstat addin? I think the way you have taken the make of the car wrongly. Cadillac or Chevrolet should not be a independent variable , the independent variable here should be Make, and you have to convert the text field to numeric creating dummy variables.

I guess
your independent variables will be
Mileage
Liter
Cylinder
Doors
Cruise
Sound
Leather
Make
Model
Type

and your dependent variable will be
Price.

Check for multicollinearity as well before running the model.

Thanks
