We will need a few more details of what is wrong and what your trying to achieve to effectively help you

If you want to share your file so we can see what's wrong have a read here: http://chandoo.org/forums/topic/posting-a-sample-workbook

If you want to do that in a chart use a Stacked Column chart

linked to a 20high x 10wide area

You need the extra height as each value can be on/off to allow changes in color

remove the Series Gaps and make the columns wider

Heres an example:

Thanks for your reply Hui,

The catch here is I want to do that using conditional formatting and Resizing the cells to a perfect square.

I am trying to figure out how they managed to square the cell's shape perfectly.

Thanks,

Praveen

@Praveen

Please be as detailed as possible in your questions

You waste a lot of time for both us and yourself by not supplying enough detail up front

in A1: =IF((ROW()-1)*10+COLUMN()<=$L$1,1,0)

Copy accross and down to A1:J10

Select A1:J10

Goto conditional formatting

apply 2 constraints

=A1=1 apply a background/foreground color

=A1=0 apply a different background/foreground color

Resize manually to make it look right

Add a Square shape as a Guide, Insert Shapes

When resizing Rows select Rows 1:10 and change them all at once

When resizing Columns select Columns A:J and change them all at once
