I use excel to create contracts details and need to show the contract start and end dates in the MM/DD/YYYY format i.e. the dates should show on the excel sheet as 07/02/2010 but excel converts it into 07-02-2010 and displays it.


I tried the format option but I don't see the type i'm looking for in the date category.


How do I make sure excel displays it in the format I need?


Any help on this will be appreciated.
 
Select your cells

Right Click Format Cells

On the Number Tab select Custom

In the Custom: box type MM/DD/YYYY

Apply
