Cursur: How to Change White Cross to Black Arrow For Cursor

I just switched to using a MacPro and downloaded Office 365. My cursur in Excel is now a white cross and periodically changes to different shapes. How do I change the cursor to be a black arrow and STAY a black arrow - which I had when using a PC with Office 2017.

The cursor in other apps is various shapes and I would like to set it be be just a black arrow all the time. Any suggestions for this too?
