Create Pivot Chart from with just one item from the pivot table per week

Hi All,

I've created a Pivot table with the closing status of an SLA report.

I would like to create a Chart of just the "Closed on first call" status per week.

See the exampel data below.

What would be the best way to do this.

I have copied the following from the link given later :


To create a normal (non-pivot) chart from a Pivot Table:


1. Select an empty cell away from the Pivot Table.

2. Click the Chart Wizard button on the toolbar.

3. Click Finish, to create an empty chart.

4. Select cells in the Pivot Table, and drag or copy them to the blank chart.


Note: If you select a cell which contains a Pivot Table button, the chart will become a Pivot Chart. To avoid this, you can build the chart from the data and either the series or category axis labels. Then choose Chart>Source Data. On the Series tab, select a series. Click on a worksheet cell to add the series name or Category axis label.

Thanks for your reply i probebly wasnt very clear its not exacly what im looking for.

The problem is when i create the chart (its fine that its a pivot chart) I get all the Closed statuses in the chart (i'm not supprised ;-)).

I just want a pivot Chart with the weeks and the closed on first call %

All other colsed statuses i dont want to see in the chart.

I would like this to be automatic so that when i import new raw data the pivot table and chard gets upodated.

In your Pivot Table , click on the Row Labels Field ; click on only those fields you want selected , and the Pivot Chart will reflect your selection.


If you select only the Closed on First Call field , then you will see only that field on the chart.

Hi Narayan,


Almost problem stil is when i filter the data in the pivot table the % calculation is only done on the data that i have filtered instead of all the data.

So when i have 2000 records of raw data en filter the "Closed on First Call" field

i get 100% and i would like to % of closed on first call over all 2000 recards

Hi Dannis ,


Right Click on any of the Closed on First Call values in your Pivot Table ; click on Value Field Settings ; click on Show Values As ; from the drop down box , select % of total.


See if this gives the correct value.

No i'm afraid this doesnt give me the correct value.

I can send you an example excel sheet maybe that will make my question more clear

Hi Narayan,


No this shows the % of Closed on first call in compared to the whole month


What i'm looking for you can already see in the highlighted cells in My sheet.

The % there are correct %of all valid closed tickets that have status Closed on first call.


Problem is when i create a chard i only want the Highlited cels to show in the card not the other statuses
