Create backup without formulas

I have a complex spreadsheet. i want to create back up files but without any formulas. I have special formatting and charts. how can i go about this? I have tried doing a vba savacopyas. it works however, i still have all the formulas. i then tried to reopen it and then go through the spreadsheet one sheet at a time and paste values, but it only opens it as read only and cannot save unless it is a copy.

One method I use which works is to select all the data on the sheet ,copy, and then on the new workbook,work sheet do a paste as value, then save as with new name, couple of clicks and all done
