Conditional formatting on formula

ALAMZEB

Member
Hi , I am extracting number from tenperature, but I cant get to work conditional formatting on it
I need to highlight cell if value in E27 is less than 10 than return blue, if less than 20 return green, if less than 30 return orange and if less than 40 than return red
conditional formatting only works if E5 is solid number but I need formula with it

Hi Alamzeb

Please see attached, hopefully it is what you were after.

I have made some changes to your trim formula. I believe you were having difficulty because the value your formula returned was text not a number. To correct this I multiplied the result by *1.

Then assuming you wanted the "right" part of the text always, I noticed tge formula failed when temp was < 10 (single digit) so, I included an if statement to handle this.

I am sure one of the ninja's will come up with a better method to handle this, but this will at least get you out of trouble.

Cheers

Shaun
