I have a table of two columns one is time stamp and the other is energy reading in kw. The time span of the readings is one year. I need to create a chart with TWO sliding indicators. By manually moving the TWO indicators I can define a period in time and the chart will display energy consumed within this two indicators. Can I do that in excel?

Glad to hear that. The table is really very simple for the purpose of this post.
Here are the last 5 records out of 264240 rows
<<
year month day hour min ch1_amps_avg dt
264236 2023 8 21 16 27 0.228667 2023-08-21 16:27:00.000
264237 2023 8 21 16 28 0.232167 2023-08-21 16:28:00.000
264238 2023 8 21 16 29 0.227500 2023-08-21 16:29:00.000
264239 2023 8 21 16 30 0.227500 2023-08-21 16:30:00.000
264240 2023 8 21 16 31 0.228667 2023-08-21 16:31:00.000 >>

dt is the timestamp and it is itemized to the left. The value is ch1_amps_avg
The most important piece of info is the timestamp and it covers WHOLE YEAR

I can answer any questions you might have like Min an Max value etc

Did You read whole sentence?
.... especially if You could attach a sample Excel-file to show - what do You really have?
and what do You really would like to have?

what do You really have? see above
what do You like to have? a chart with TWO sliding indicators. By manually moving the TWO indicators I can define a period in time and the chart will display energy consumed within this two indicators.
Energy consumed is the sum of ch1_amps_avg for the given PERIOD

Elaboration:
1. The table will display from January to say August. At the end of the year it will be Dec.. So , as of today I have a (say) line graph Jan-Aug. In addition to the chart will be small window showing Total of column ch1_amps_avg. To make it easy; we ALSO have 2 Cells for start date and end date.
If the two date fields are blank, the chart display the whole table.
Now If there is from to dates; the chart shows ONLY the range given. This way it is more precise than using Navigation bars and not that complicated to program using index() function.
If we go back to the original post; my query was the possibility of selecting any part of the table
Most of the templates I looked at; assume the chart always displays from zero to ....
