Cell Grouping Buttons Disappeared

I hit some keys and now the little + and - buttons have disappeared and i cant get them back. I have read on some other forums about tweaking the display options in the Options > Advanced menu but to no avail. When i click the Show Details or Hid Details icon in the Data > Outline Menu, the screen moves every so slightly so I suspect the solution is hiding in plain sight.

That didn't work. Same thing happens as described above: "the screen moves every so slightly." I recorded my screen but it wont let me upload for you to see.
