Calculate total working hours based rule

Hi,

I would like to ask some help how calculate the total working hours based on unique rules. The plant is working in morning, afternoon and night shifts structure.

Rules:
  • normally each week starting on Monday at 5:00 am and finishing on Friday at 13:00 pm
  • if Monday is day off then the week starting on other day at 5:00 am
  • if Friday is day off then the last shift is finished on Friday at 5:00 am

I have attached the sample file.

Thanks in advance the reply.

my mistake, sorry.. it is only 104 hours... M19 h + T24 h + W24 h + Th24 + F13 h = 104 h

I corrected the file.

Hi:

Could you please explain how you got the hours for Monday through Friday.

This what I understood

Morning shift = 13:00-5:00= 8hrs
Afternoon shift=12:55-20:05=7.10hrs
Night shift =20:00(Today)-5:00(Tomorrow)=9hrs

Thanks

Hi:

Could you please explain how you arrived at those hours or is it just a standard?

Is there any logical math behind Monday 19 hrs, Tue 24hrs ---Fri 13hrs?

Thanks

Hi,

In normal case each week looks like this:
  • Monday - starting at 5 am and finishing at 24 pm = so the total working hour is 19h (24h-5h=19h)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - working all days, from 0 am to 24 pm = so the total working hour is 24h (24h-0h=24h)
  • Friday - working from 0 am to 13 pm = so the total working hour is 13h
There is not any kind of math logic behind.

Hi:

I have tried to put some formulas as per my understanding. I had to use helper columns to get the calculation right. Since the date range vary the monthly calculation is complex than the weekly calculation. I have put a manual calculation to cross check the results you can delete that information .

Thanks
