Auto Y axis limits in Excel Charts

HSK

New Member
I am drawing process control chart with control limits. The data is to entered on daily basis. By default Excel calculates Min Y Axis as '0'. In order to have a better visibility I need to adjust Min limit depending on the minimum value of entered data (say-10% of Min. Value).

Is there any formula/function in excel to adjust the min y (and/or Max y) limit depending of the data entered?

Hey HSK,

Select the axis, Do a right Click ON the axis and then select "Format Axis" in which you can set the option "Auto" which will auto adjust the minimum/maximum units as per your data.

I would add 2 more series to your chart

The 2 series will have constant values for all cells

1st series Min: =min(Range)*0.9

2nd series Max: =max(Range)*1.1

Add the 2 series to teh chart and make the series lines and markers No Color

Set X * Y Axis Min and Max to Auto Scale
