Add green triangle indicator manually

Hello,

I would like to ask that how is it possible to add manually the small green triangle indicator (formula error checking) in upper-left corner of a cell?

Thanks the answer!

Hi Villalobos

The green triangle is there to indicate that there has been an inconsistent application of Excel formula or numbers displayed as text.

Try it type a formula in one cell and in the following cells drag the formula. Now change one of those formula. The green tick mark should appear.

Under what conditions do you want to add this symbol manually? To add it manually just type the tick symbol '

so paste this into excel

'8

Take care

Hi ,

Just to add to what Marcus has posted , this indicator comes from the error-checking set within Excel Options :

Click on the Office button ( in the top left corner ) , click on Excel Options , Formulas.

At the bottom , there is a section labelled Error checking rules , containing 9 checkboxes. Depending on which of these has been checked , Excel will display the indicator whenever it comes across situations which flout those rules.
