    Applying [hh]:mm:ss Format

Hi forum, I attached a file for reference. In column A (total runtime 1) I have values in cells custom formatted as [hh]:mm:ss. I cannot produce the sum of the total runtime. In column B (total runtime 2) I have the same values and the same custom formatting, but here I selected each value in...

Watch Window for Mac version of Excel

I’m trying to create a window that floats in front of my workbook that lets me see selected cells from anywhere in my workbook to see how changes affect cells that aren’t within view on a large spreadsheet. When I searched for it on several Excel blogs the answer was: the Watch window doesn’t...

    Real-Time Line-Counter

Hi, Thank you very much for all your help so far. This forum managed to solve all my Excels issues. I'm here to ask for your help one more time. In the attached file I show what I'm trying to accomplish: a real-time line-counter for actors. In column B I have the list of actors, in column C the...

More about movie formatting (and actors' overlapping)

Hi, I am testing it. When I apply to a different script it seems to give me some problems. Let me make some more tests and I'll let you know. Thank you so much!

More about movie formatting (and actors' overlapping)

Hi, Then there's no need to highlight them. It's always the same voice. I'm only concerned when the name changes, because now there is a different character and I have to make sure he doesn't have the same voice as the previous character in the cell right before.

More about movie formatting (and actors' overlapping)

In my attached file, if name in column B, row x, is different from name in column B, row x+1, then highlight both names (if names are both male or both female. If names are one male and the other female, don't highlight). Also, if one name is Narrator and the other is any other name, male or...

More about movie formatting (and actors' overlapping)

Hi, I'm Luciano, its my second question to this forum. The first one was wonderfully answered :) When I cast voices to dub a documentary, I assign one voice actor to more than one character. In order to avoid that the same actor is assigned to two characters talking to each other or too close...

    Movie script formatting

In dubbing, for several reasons: real time computation of actors' compensation based on a 50-charachters-per-line of text, easy filtering of the script by character's name to easily spot dialogue and corresponding timecode, possibility to export tab-separated text files that can be imported as...

    Movie script formatting

It's Excel for Mac, version 15.37 (170815) I don't have PowerQuery, but I can download it, if it gets the job done. Otherwise, either a formula (probably easier) or coding base solution is fine, as long as I can get the results shown in the uploaded sample. Thanks for your input!

    Movie script formatting

Hi, my name is Luciano, I work in movie translation and I'm often challenged with script formatting issues, like the one shown. I'd life to merge rows with same contiguous character's names into one single row, so that the text is more readable and less choppy. Of course, to maintain the sense...
