Thanks Hui. It's not my iPad, so I don't have all the details. Do you have any recommendations for the most usability?

iPad and Excel Interactivity (lack therof)

Has anyone tried viewing Excel 2007 and newer on an iPad. When we do, we lose many of the features. However, Excel 2003 works fine. Thanks.

Pivot Table Grouping Dates-Adds Less than and Greater Than Groupings

Does anyone know why when I try to group a pivot chart by date (has 2011 and 2012 dates in it) and filter it by "This Year" it then gives me the months as row labels but also a "8/12/2011" row label (with a value of zero) and then a ">4/3/2012" also with zero to my pivot table (and thus chart).

Removing letters the beginning of a value

Was just looking at the formula more, and won't this just take 1 character off the data? I need 1 or 2 characters, the letters at the beginning need to be removed, sometimes there is one, sometimes two.

Removing letters the beginning of a value

    Need to get rid of any letter(s) at the beginning of each value. Problem is, the values vary in character length. Any thoughts? Thank you! S1021WA S1021WC S1021WD S1023 S1024 S1052 S1054 S1056 S1059 S1134NC S1135NC S1136NC S1137NC S1138NC S1139NC S1172 S1173 S1174

How to Get Last Week, etc. Date Filters in Report Filter

How can I get the dates in the pivot table filter field to sort by "last week" "last month" "this year" "last quarter" etc? They show when I have a date format in the Axis Fields (categories) but when I want to use the date to just filter what time period is shown without actually showing dates...

    Non-repeating Duplicate Lookup

I have a raw data sheet with Week, Dept. Error Occurred, Error Code, # Errors, Volume for Week, Errors/Volume, NonRepeat Volume, Goal and NonRepeat Goal as column headers. In order to create pivot charts from this data I had to add the NonRepeat Volume column and use...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

Thanks Dan. it took me a little bit of research to figure out, but I learned how dynamic ranges are based on formulas. then i just copied and modified the formula you had for the dynamic range. I also worked on adjusting your formulas to get the table I need. The one aspect that is a little...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

Ahh, OK thank you. I missed the data validation cell previously. The way the chart changes is great. I need to read up on dynamic data and charts. Just a thought, is there anyway to use index and match to pull ranges and set them up in a way that we could build a pivot table off of?

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

Hi Dan, I looked at your file and I'm a little confused. First, I did try setting up a file like you suggested several days ago like: Week Department ErrorCode ErrorCount however, this would entail having to type in the department and error code every time, as well as the department...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

I guess in terms of charts, I meant it is a pain because someone has to change the data source every week for about 8 different charts. Then, if you want to see 1 year, 1 month, 1 quarter, etc. you have to unhide those columns and then select that data. To me, it's almost more trouble than it's...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

I think originally the report was designed as only the report generated by the billing system. Then they wanted to start comparing to past years/months/weeks so an excel report was created. Then charts were added. The problem with the charts is that they have to be manually updated and the...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

Ok, I just checked further with the person who does the report each week. We get the codes when the remake work is re-billed. The error code is entered into the billing/order system and then a report is run each week. The report generates an output that can be printed or viewed on screen...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

Yes that's correct. This report was created before I got here. I'm just glad I don't have to actually do the data entry on it! I would like to transition it to an easier/cleaner format, but struggled with figuring out how to do so. Thanks for taking a peek at it! We have multiple reports...

Best Way to Change Existing Report Data to Use in a Pivot Table/Chart

We have a large file with lots of data on errors that are made. They are tracked weekly, and different error codes associated with specific departments. Sometimes errors in a certain category will be split between 2 departments. We take all of our errors and use those sums and the total...
