But I don't know if there is a simple way to generate a map like the one shown in moneycontrol without resorting to vba or lot of clever formulas coupled with conditional formatting. I have never tried this type of graphs on excel, but Robert seems to have done so as he points to an excel add-in that could do this. Let me try this on Monday (no promises as I have a rather hectic day :D) and see if it meets your needs.
