Hi Chandoo.. am not able to view these online video lessons thru my Tab (Celkon CT2). Is there any possibility to view using Tab or Mobile (Nokia N8). Please guide me how to view using any of the above two devices. This will help me to go through the lessons whenever and wherever possible . Thanks, Pradeep Sarma
@Pradeep,
These lessons webpages are not designed for view over mobile devices. If you have download option in your subscription, you can download the videos and sync them with your device. However, Online playback on mobile devices is not supported.
I could be wrong but this response is contradictory to what is satated in your Q&A section where you state that lessons can be viewed on mobile devices. Even with that I havn’t been able to use my iPad to continue with my lessons on the go, whch is disappointing.
@Abdalla,
Please check the FAQs at http://chandoo.org/learn/faqs/how-to-videos-on-ipad-tablets-mobile-phones/. It specifically states that most mobile devices do not directly support flash player playback on websites and you can download the videos and sync with the devices if the membership level allows it.
Is it possible to view the lessons in full screen? It is hard to see the formulas otherwise.
Thanks,
Leilani
@Leilani,
The lessons can be viewed full-screen. If you do not see the full-screen icon on any of the lessons, then you might need to upgrade the flash video player. If this is an issue with specific lessons, please let us know the lessons. With most of the lessons, the Excel files developed in the lessons are available for download and you can review the formulas in the Excel files as well.
i have the latest (11,6,602,168 ) and still don’t have a full screen icon. One example is the SMALL/LARGE lesson.
Sorry, I take that back.. I just found the full-screen icon.. its at bottom where the progress bar is (all the way to the right side).
Why is it that when i “down load” I only get the excel example not the MP4 video you mention?
Also why not have one place where all class videos are available for downloading?
@Abdalla,
If your membership plan allows lesson downloads, then you will be able to download the Lessons as Zip archives which contain the mp4 videos. The Excel files are available for download with all lessons in the “Download Links” section below the lesson and the videos are available in “Download this lesson & Watch at leisure” section just below the “download Links” section.
Hi Chandoo/Sameer – Can you please have a relook at the recording of the videos because the quality of resolution seems to be not in par with your VBA and other classes (the fonts and other writting seems to be bit unclear)… are you using the same tools for recording or resolution ratios. Not a big problem just thought will let you know
Still awaiting your respense on the the issues with bit large file with few columns (say 20-30MB+) size…having excel freezing and not responding. Just FYI I am using 32bit MS Excel Professional Plus with V2 PowerPivot.
Cheers!!

How can I download all class lessons at once? (My membership allows)
Hi, I am thoroughly enjoying the lessons and learning so many nuggets…
I have one question about conditional formatting…?
Can an email be sent to a person, depending on the value of cell? For eg: we deal with a lot of garments and we may sell out of a particular style. Can an email be sent regarding a “SOLD out” style?
@Raghu,
Yes this is certainly possible, although conditional formatting will have no role to play here.
Have a read on the below article on how to send mails.
http://chandoo.org/wp/2012/04/23/send-mails-using-excel-vba-and-outlook/
In your example you would need to loop through your cells that contain the “SOLD Out” status and according build your email TO, CC and BCC addresses.

Hi Chandog
I am not really sure I understand the format of this class. Do we just watch he videos and then submit any question that we have or will you be sending us homework that needs to be turned in at a given time. Finally, are you going to be offering online tutoring outside the videos. Please advise, just curious.
Thanks
Remy
@Remy,
You need to watch the lesson videos and post any questions that you may have as comments to which we will revert.
There is no online tutoring outside of the video classes/

HI Where can I find usage of date function? What I’m looking for is, I have couple of criteria, if met, have a set of dates which should be assigned accordingly (perhaps in increment). Have about 100 records in the file and 5 different set of dates. Can send the file, if required.

hi where can I find upgrade link to Finance modelling course?
Hello,
Under the nested if lesson as I was using the Weekday(today()) formula it was bringing back January 6, 1900. How am I able to sync the date to my laptop? Not a huge deal, just curious.
By the way, these videos have already helped me tremendously!
Thank you!
Cherise
Hi Cherise ,
The WEEKDAY function accepts as a parameter , a valid Excel date , and returns as output , the number 1 through 7. There are different versions of this function , where the meaning of 1 differs. One of these versions uses 1 for Sunday , and 7 for Saturday.
Now , if you format the cell where you have this formula as DATE , then the return value of 6 will be displayed as January 6 , 1900. Format the cell as General , and you should see the digit 6.

Hello Mr Chandoo,
I just recently started your course and trying to follow the playzone exercises but as a beginner, I am depending a lot on responses to the questions being posted online but a lot of the basic BUT IMPORTANT questions are not being answered. The video and explanations are great but being able to see answers to questions are key as well. Also maybe give us an opportunity to WATCH you write the ANSWERS would be much more helpful/
Hi Harley ,
If you go through the comments section , you will find that questions are being answered. I try to answer every question that I come across. So far I have not seen any IMPORTANT question of yours , other than asking others whether their questions have been answered.
Can you start asking questions on the lessons , and see for yourself ?

Thanks,

Hi Chandoo, et.al.,
I have an Excel workbook locking question, please.
How do I hide and lock one or two worksheets within a workbook and then send that file onto other users to update the unhidden worksheets, maintaining links to the hidden worksheets, but enabling the other users to make changes to the unhidden worksheets? i.e., budget workbook with confidential salary data worksheets linked to consolidated budget worksheets to be sent to managers to update their worksheets, but want to keep salary worksheets hidden and locked. Even if they copy the file and rename it, will the hidden worksheets remain hidden and locked (if they don’t have the password)?
Hope that explains my question well?
Thank you!

Hello! What if I have data on multiple sheets? Call volume, completed assessments (can have multiple done same day) and agent ready statuses; how can I pivot the number of calls made in a day to compare to the number of assessments?
If you could point me to where I can learn this, it would be greatly appreciated!!
