Greg
If you use a formula like:
=If(A2<0, t, u)
then set the Font to Wing Dings 3

you will get a Left Arrow (t) if A2 < 0 and a Right Arrow (u) if A2 >= 0
You can also use Up arrow (p) and Down Arrow (q)

You can also use Cf to set colors to Green and Red as appropriate

Have you thought about using the CF icons instead ?

the KPI dashboard has an arrow icon, but it only goes one way, i want the icon, for negative values, to go to the right and not just the left. that way it doesn't confuse the user. i have however, conditionally formatted it for green for positive and red for negative, but not satisfied.

Hi Greg
Unfortunately No
A cell can contain many Font Styles, but they can't be added/changed via formula

What exactly do you want to do ?
There may be other work-arounds

Is it possible to specify a font style in a formula, kind of like the Text(1564,###.0) formula but font style? I want to add a webdings character in the answer of my formula.
