Large file problems

Hi I get a CSV file each month. The data has now grown to 250,000 + rows per month.

I take the data and copy it into an excel table on another sheet.

The problem is now the file is so large I am getting resource error message when I try to copy and paste.

One solution I was wondering is that is there a way to automatically split the original CSV file into multiple sheets of tabs of say 50,000 rows each.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Hi Warren ,

If you can explain your further data processing that you wish to do using this .csv file , then it may be possible to do away with the copy + paste altogether.

Just change the
MaxRowsPerSheet = 0& to MaxRowsPerSheet = 50000
for CSV file into multiple sheets of tabs of say 50,000 rows each

There are several methods to do so depending data type or what NARAYANK991 asked.

Depending on what your doing with the data you can access the file directly using a Data Link or Power Pivot etc, Without actually importing it at all
