Exploding head...Max(Row()) with Table

When I use '=MAX(Row(Table1))' the cell returns the first row of the table. BUT...when I view the formula results in the formula bar it returns the last row of the table. Why does this happen and is there a permutation of 'MAX(ROW(Table1))' to actually have the last row of the table returned as the cell value? Thanks /pw

Hi pww2,

Welcome to forum.

MAX gives the max of numbers or a range of numbers, but when you pass ROW(Table1) in MAX it evaluate an array of row numbers, which MAX function don't conventionally deals, so you need to tell EXCEL that you want an array evaluation by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER after putting formula to get last row number.
