In regards your question, I would look at some undelete utilities to recover your file

If method below doesn’t effective in your case, apply excel repair tool.

Excel Repair Toolbox will restore remote files of spreadsheets in the Microsoft Excel formats (XLS/XLSX) and OpenOffice (ODS). The program combines algorithm of fast recovery of remote files with possibility of the careful analysis of a hard disk in search of the files which have escaped after formatting, system failure or breaking the device on sections. All structure and contents of spreadsheets including formulas, schedules and built-in objects is successfully restored.

Repair a corrupted workbook manually

3. Do one of the following:

o To recover as much of the workbook data as possible, click Repair.

If this method wasn’t effective in your case, apply…

If the first method fails than other methods to repair your Excel file manually:

  1. With the help of writing a small VBA macro
  2. With the help of free tools from third-parties
    1. OpenOffice at Apache OpenOffice
    2. KingSoft Spreadsheets
