filter by using hyperlink or search box instead of checking boxes

i have too many customers and i filter them by checking the boxes(when we filter data) but now since they are now too many i want to make it easy and filter them by just tying thier name in some ind of search box or some kind of hyperlink or anything which can filter data easily

Hi,

You already have the option to type the text/number in the filter drop down. You can use wildcard search with it. If my understanding is not correct provide some more details.

i am using excel 2007 and i dont find advance filter please tell me if i am wrong

Please find the attached , enter the name to be filtered in the colored cell and click on filter button.
Note: you can filter only one name at a time if you want multiple filter option let me know.
