What is going to make the least amount of impact on computing in a large database?
I currently have a spreadsheet with 9000 rows, 30 columns. I find sorting is REALLY slow now (roughly 2 mins to sort the list on an brand new i7 PC with 12 GB ram).
I am currently using in cell drop downs (Data Validation) on two columns, If I changed that to do data validation from a separate tab would it speed up the spreadsheet? Therefore I'd have one list for it to point to instead of a different list for each cell. I ask because I want to make sure it will have am impact before I go and change all 9000 entries.
I want to limit the entries in those column list to specific items.
What is the best way?
Thanks
