Lookup with some conditions

Hi I have attached the excel file.

I want to find the Assignment type based on some conditions (mentioned in comments column)

and Note that lookup table is dynamic it changes every now and then

I would be grateful if you could solve my problem

Hi Dileep,

Interesting challenge...see the attached workbook. I had to make a small change to the lookup table, but then the formula works. Is this a viable path?

Awesome, Luke. Either I had forgotten that MATCH could use wildcards, or I never knew it. This is going to serve me well until I forget it again.
 
I would echo that statement myself Jeff. I admit, I often forget which functions support wildcards and which don't (biggest annoyance is that SUBSTITUTE doesn't...) and so I often have to run a quick test. :p
