unable to use record macro button

i m using vba first time through the instructions given at the site ...
i have got that developer bar out on ribbon..
but the record macro button is not working its highlighted n im unable to use it plz help thnx in advance
 
Did you install Visual Basic for Applications when Excel was installed ?
 
aahhh sorry guy dat was installation prblm ... the issue is fixed thnkx any way to every one
